The Arab Region
Guiding was established in several countries in the 1930s. In 1966, these Associations participated in the first Arab Conference held in Libya. In 1973 the Arab Region Group was established. In 1999 The Arab Region was formed. Today the Arab Region has 13 Member Organizations and five countries are working towards membership. There are 150,000 Girl Guides in the Arab Region today.

Activities
The Arab Region is focusing its activities and events on adolescent health issues, including organizing seminars and workshops for young women on reproductive health.
At a national level, all of the region's Member Organizations are working on projects for the WAGGGS Building world Citizenship theme.

Structure
The Arab Regional Conference takes place once every three years. The Regional Conference determines and implements the goals, strategy and priorities of the Region.
The Conference is the governing body of the region, and is made up of delegations from each Member Organization.

The Arab Regional Committee comprises of 6 members who are elected by the Arab Regional Conference. The Regional Committee is responsible for the implementation of decisions taken at the Regional Conference. A Committee member is elected for a three-year term, and can be re-elected up to a maximum of six years. At least one member must be under 30 years of age at the time of election. The Committee elects a Regional Chairman and Vice-Chairman. The Regional Chairman is also a voting member of WAGGGS World Board.

Training
Seminars and Workshops are organized annually to provide trainers and leaders with adequate skills and knowledge to promote Girl Guiding in the region
